Checking In: Hotel Murano Tacoma WA
Hello Friends,
I’m excited to share my review of the beautiful Hotel Murano in Tacoma! This boutique accommodation is located downtown, in the heart of the city. Tacoma is known as “Destiny City”, and this destination is one to check out!
The Lobby
The Lobby was my favorite part of the stay at the Murano. Check out this classic car that sits front and center to greet you upon check in! Even though the rooms were amazing, we just wanted to sit and enjoy the ambiance on the main floor.
Take a seat on a teal colored comfy couch and bask in all the wonderful sights around you. I was in turquoise heaven here. ( All the hues in the aqua spectrum are my favorite) The hotel is like an art museum throughout, you can go from floor to floor exploring gorgeous displays of artwork.
The Lounge
Also located on the main floor across from the lobby, is the hotel lounge. It is all decked out in teal accents as well. If you want a refuge from cool northwest days this is the place for you! A huge fireplace beckons with comfy pillows to rest on and enjoy your favorite beverage.
A limited menu of appetizers and bar food is available for order as well. I’m on a quest to eat healthier, but I and the hubs fell off the wagon and ordered french fries. Oh my, who could refuse a big yummy plate of truffle fries- to die for!
The Rooms
The room did not disappoint, and was the perfect place to have a short stay-cation near home. The view from our room was a feast for the eyes! Huge picture windows gave way to a panoramic view of the city. All the icons of the Tacoma skyline were on display for us to enjoy: Union Station, The 21st Avenue Bridge, The Museum of Glass Cone, the Tacoma Dome and many more.
Bite Restaurant
The Bite is located up a few floors from the main lobby, by way of the elevator or stairs. I suggest taking the stairs. There are cool pieces of art to observe on your way up. I loved the vibe at this eatery.
Enjoy your bites in a classy atmosphere, and bring a hungry tummy too. Oh my the portions were huge! I ordered a spinach omelette that was oozing with scrumptious mozzarela cheese. Your taste buds will be bursting with flavor explosion
The Decor
As mentioned earlier, the entire hotel is a work of art. The Museum of Glass located close by is the inspiration for the decor at the Murano. If you are a fan of Chihuly the glass designer, you will be in heaven at the Murano. Even some of the chandeliers are made from hand blown glass. This fun card display in the restaurant is also made of glass.
The decor is what makes this hotel so unique and special. I’ve never seen anything quite like it! If you book a stay here, be sure to include a tour of the glass museum- you will be in awe! When visiting the Pacific Northwest, this hotel is a must stop.
